Jazz dance
In jazz dance training, I focus on developing the correct body position and maintaining it in every movement and pose, on coordinating the work of different parts of the body, on maintaining the necessary muscle tension and natural pull in the torso and upper limbs, on articulating the work of the foot and the entire lower limb.
My other goals in jazz training are developing connected movement from position to position, from pose to pose, developing musicality, the characteristic quality of movement and the feeling of movement depending on the tempo and rhythm of the music.
Modern dance
In my training in modern dance technique, I focus on the principles of José Limón's technique, which are close to me thanks to my long-term collaboration with choreographer and teacher Joe Alegado, with whom I also worked as his choreography assistant.
In my training, I focus mainly on developing the "Limon" quality of movement, developing coordination of movements, plasticity, fluidity and flexibility of movements. I adhere to all the fundamental qualitative specifics of J. Limón's technique.
Mgr. Bibiána Lanczová, ArtD. Graduate of the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava with a master's degree in modern dance pedagogy and later a doctoral degree in dance art. During her studies at the Academy of Performing Arts, she worked as a performer at the Bralen Dance Theatre and as an assistant to choreographer and teacher Joe Alegado since 1993. She also worked as a member of the dance company and assistant choreographer at Ján Ďurovčík's JAN Company in various dance projects and theater and television productions at the Nová scéna theater, DAB Nitra, DJZ Prešov /in musicals directed by J. Bednárik and choreographed by J. Ďurovčík: Malý obchod hrôzy, Fidlikant na streche, Niekto to rád hoře, Hamlet, Klietka bláznov, Zorba the Greek and others/. She collaborated in various theatrical productions directed by K. Spišák /Play One Foot and Dance the Other/, V. Morávka /Macbeth/, R. Polák /Eight Women/.
She worked as an assistant director and choreographer for the musical Príbeh ulice directed by N. Slovák, Aréna Theatre (2008).
She performed and created choreography for the dance film Tanec medzi črepinami directed by M. Ťapák, /character Marianna/.
She also worked as a production and sales manager for BDT – Bratislava Dance Theatre of Ján Ďurovčík in the projects: Svadby/Vták Ohnivák, Janko Hraško /1997-98/, later at the Nová scéna Theatre in the projects: Vlasy, Do naha!, Osem žien and other drama performances /2003-2007/.
From 2006 to 2017, she worked as a teacher and choreographer of modern dance at the Eva Jaczová Dance Conservatory in Bratislava.
She currently works as: assistant professor for jazz dance technique and modern dance repertoire at the Academy of Performing Arts, teacher at the Bralen Dance Theater, teacher at TS DanceContinent, judge in dance competitions /Movement without Barriers, Beyond the Border of Movement, Kábrt Cup and others/.
In 2018, she founded the company Danceana - online and workshop education for teachers and dancers, which provides professional dance consulting mainly for amateur and beginning teachers.
